Dillonvale Fire Chief, 64, Dies
Walter A. Manifold, Dillonvale fire chief for the past 25 years and
mine foreman at the Dillonvale Cooperative Mining Co., died at 8:30 Sunday evening at his home after three years illness of complications. He was 64 years old.
A native of Caldwell, O., he was a son of the late James and Julia
Young Manifold, and had lived in Dillonvale for 50 years. He leaves his wife, Edna Ulrich Manifold; five daughers, Patricia Bo of
the nurse cadet corps at Martins Ferry hospital; Mrs. Dorothy DeRoya of
Dillonvale; Miss Eugenia Manifold and Mrs. Julia Peregoy of Kent, and Mrs. Martha McKenzie of Shadyside; two sisters, Mrs. Phemia Hooper and Mrs. Hattie King of Gary, Ind.; one brother, Amos of Eau Claire, Mich., and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 Wednesday at the late
residence with burial in Highland Cemetery."
