WAYNE S. CABLE, 44, native of New Cumberland, W. Va., and former resident of Toronto, died at 12:19 p.m. Wednesday at the Mercy Hospital in Portsmouth, O., following two weeks illness of complications.

He was born September 27, 1898 at New Cumberland, a son of Charles and Nannie A. McElroy Cable and moved to Toronto with his parents at the age of nine. He formerly operated the Cable Cleaning Company at Toronto, now the Empire Cleaning Company and had operated the N-U-Way Dry Cleaning Company at Portsmouth the past 10 years. He was affilliated with the Elks Lodge and other organizations.

Surviving are Mrs. Wayne Cable, a daughter Mrs. Ruth Cable Frizell of Washington, D.C., his mother, Mrs. Nannie Cable of Toronto, a granddaughter, Joyce Lee Cable of Cincinnati, four brothers, Guy and John of Toronto, Sheryl of Wellsville and Pvt. Dean Cable of Camp Polk, La., and a sister, Mrs. Edward Thayer, Toronto, where funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, with Rev. F. O. Wise in charge. Interment in Island Creek Cemetery.
