WILLIAM BARCUS, was born in Wellsburg July 16, 1823; died at the home of his son, Frank, in Brilliant, on May 25, 1909, aged 85 years and ten months. His funeral took place Thursday, May 27, short services being held at the residence of his son, following which the remains were conveyed to the M. E. church at Hopewell, where Rev. Houck conducted the services, when his remains were laid to rest beside those of his wife, who preceded him a few years. He leaves five sons and one daughter and a large number of grandchildren; also one brother, Daniel, of Florida, and two sisters Nancy and Rebecca of Wellsburg.
