THOMAS KANE, of Steubenville died at St. Anthony's hospital, Columbus, on Saturday, of consumption, aged about forty-five years. The deceased had been -------- a son of the late Matthew and ------Kane of Mingo Junction. He was married to Mary A. Cusick of this city, who died several years ago, and the following children survive: Nellie, James, Thomas and Marie of Steubenville; Raymond and Amelda of Dayton. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. J. B. Shahan, Ella and Allie of Columbus; Mrs. Galvin and Mrs. E. P. Porter of Steubenville; Lizzie, Annie, James and Matthew of Mingo. The deceased was baggage master at the Panhandle station for some years, and in this capacity he was favorably known to many. He also traveled for commission houses in late years, and until his health failed and he was compelled to relinquish business, was a most successful salesman. Although not unexpected, his many friends in Steubenville and Mingo will regret to learn of his death. The Steubenville Weekly Gazette, Friday, January 27, 1899
