PAULINE L. PURVIANCE, 90, of Steubenville died Friday, June 11, 1999, at Dixon Health Care Center in Wintersville. She was born December 2, 1908 in Toronto, a daughter of the late Henry B. and Sadie Belle Andrews Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Paul Eugene Purviance in 1968, three sisters, and four brothers. She was retired from Marantz Department Store in Weirton. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, American Association of Retired Persons, Republicans Women 100 Club, Sunset Club, Buckeye Club, Mary Martha Bible Class, and was a former Girl Scout leader. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a son, James of Bloomingdale, a daughter, Mrs. John (Joanne) Sogan of North Canton, a sister Frances Stevenson of Seattle, 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren. Memorile service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Starkdale Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Leroy Dillener officiating. Burial will be in Fort Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jefferson County Historical Society. Arrangements were handled by Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home,, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville.
