Mrs. L. C. Purviance, Summoned by Death: Following an illness of 10 days, Mrs. Mollie A. Purviance, 69, wife of Lewis C. Purviance, died of complications at 11:30 a.m. on Monday at her home near Bloomingdale. She was born on March 6, 1873 at the Vermillion homestead at Weems, the daughter of Anderson and Nancy Dodds Vermillion. Mrs. Purviance spent her entire life in the Smithfield vicinity until 14 years ago when she moved near Bloomingdale. She was a member of Bloomingdale methodist Church. Besides her husband she leaves three brothers and one sister, Charles Vermillion, near Bloomingdale, George Vermillion, Rayland RD1, Joseph Vermillion, Steubenville, and Mrs. Ethel McCullough, near Bloomingdale. Mrs. Purviance was a woman of pleasing personality, possessed with the finest traits of christian character. She was held in esteem by all who had her acquaintance and her death will be regretted by a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the family home near Bloomingdale.
