MRS. JULIA A. MARTIN, wife of John S. M. Martin, died at her home on South High street, Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock in her fifty-fourth year. Mrs. Martin, naturally of delicate constitution, contracted a bad cold about two weeks ago, while with other complications, resulted in her death. The deceased was born in Wattsville, Carroll County, April 21, 1845, her maiden name being Burns. She was married to Mr. Martin thirty-eight years ago, and they lived in Steubenville for thirty years. Besides husband three children survive, John and Harry of this city, and Mrs. Frank Duke of Muncie, Ind. Mrs. Martin's death was the first break in a family of nine, and the following brothers and sisters survive: Thomas of Pittsburgh; George of Allegheny; Nathan of Parkersburg; Jonathan of Island Creek; William, Andrew and James of Steubenville; Mrs. Thomas Boyd of Findlay. The latter with her daughter, Mrs. Albert Knotts, and Mrs. Duke of Muncie, were summoned here by the death of Mrs. Martin. The deceased was a member of the Second Presbyterian church, and was a consistent Christian, an affectionate wife and a kind and decoted mother.
