JACKSON A. BELL, a prominent farmer of Smithfield township, died Saturday night, aged seventy years. He was born in Wayne township and was the son of Francis and Jennie Bell. He married Maria, daughter of Moses Blackburn, and with the exception of a few years in Archer township, Harrison County, resided all his life in Wayne and Smithfield townships. His wife and the following children survive: William L. Bell of Steubenville; Francis M., of Jewett, a W. & L. E. conductor; Moses at home; John of Smithfield; Jennie of Wooster; Robert Patterson of Dillonvale, engineer at the coal mines; George of near Richmond. He has identified with the Presbyterian church at Smithfield and has been an elder for a number of years. He was a Democrat in politics and firm in his convictions. He was buried Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock from his late residence.
