ISHAM MASON, a well known colored resident of this city, died at his home No. 126 South Seventh street at 6 o'clock last evening, aged 47 years. He was employed at the Mingo furnace and contracted a cold about two weeks ago, which developed into pneumonia and caused his death. Deceased was born at Georgetown on Short Creek, Harrison county, June 26, 1852. He came to Steubenville in 1890 and in 1895 was married to Mrs. Lizzie Howell, who, with two children and three step children, Charles of Columbus; Jessie, Henry, Isam and Albert, survive to mourn his loss. His mother, Mrs. Nancy Mason, of this city and his brother, Rev. Alexander Mason of Elmwood Place, O., survive. The Steubenville Herald Star, Wednesday, April 19, 1899 The funeral of Isham Mason took place from his late residence on South Seventh street, at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon. Rev. Riley conducted the services and the pall bearers were Nelson Howard, Ham Cook, Milton Brown, John Harris and John Reynolds.
