CHARLES P. PURVIANCE, 59, former resident of Smithfield died at his late home in Alliance, Sunday of summer influenza. The deceased was born and raised in Smithfield and was well known and highly respected throughout the community. The deceased is survived by his wife, a son Thomas of Cleveland, a daughter Anna May, and two grandchildren. Two brothers, Thomas and Samuel of Smithfield, and a sister Mrs. R.A. Pelt, Amsterdam, and his mother, Mrs. Lydia Purviance also survive. Mr. Purviance lived in Smithfield until 15 years ago when he moved with his family to Alliance where he engaged in the dry goods business. Funeral services will be held at the home of his brother Samuel, Smithfield. Interment will be made in the Smithfield Cemetery.( No dated given) contributed by Kay  Return to the Obituary Index
