MRS. AGNES BROWN SCOTT, it was very sad news that was conveyed to many friends in Steubenville and elsewhere on Wednesday evening of the death of Mrs. Agnes Brown, widow of Cyrus Scott. Mrs. Scott's condition had been critical for some days, and friends lingered lovingly and faithfully at her bedside administering to her every want. Her health had been poor for about two years, but her affliction, which was Bright's disease, did not develope into its serious stages until July last, when it caused her to lose her eyesight and from that time she was confined to her room. She was a faithful, uncomplaining sufferer throughout and is entitled to the crown set aside for all who endure faithfully to the end now that her spirit has been called above. Mrs. Scott was sixty-two years of age, was born in Steubenville, the daughter of Hugh and Jane Brown, and had always lived here. She was married to the late Cyrus Scott, who was in business in this city, and who died in 1892. The following brothers and sisters survive: Mrs. John Frew of Wheeling; R. M. Brown, H. H. Brown, and Mrs. Rossman Gardner of Steubenville. Mrs. Scott was a member of the M. P. Church and was a very consistent Christian; she was prominent in social, church and charitable undertakings and her loss will be keenly felt in this community.
