Al Davis of Morgan Co state of ohio and Mifs Mattie Carman of Jefferson county same state were married at the residence of the brides parents near Unionport by the rev Price on the 28" day of November 1872.
Thomas Carman and Rachel Moore were married February 17" 1841.
Rachel Moore Carman died 9" 1897, ag. 73 yr. 11 mo. 26 ds.

Samuel Carman
Samuel Carman an aged member of the Unionport Ohio Christian Church passed to his great reward on Oct 11, 1926. He was the son of Thomas Moore Carman and was married to Sarah Harris.on Dec 10, 1808. He had eight children. Samuel Jr passed, John, Leona, Cora Belle, Durand, of Sturgeon Palmer of Burgettstown PA Mrs Olive Smylie of Cadiz OH, and Mrs Mary Gray of Buffalo NY . Eight grandchildren and a sister, Mrs A.C. Davis of Richmond OH. He was a Republican. He was a fought in the Civil War, Company G in the 157th regiment. Best friend was Isaac Starr who fought in the civil war with him and they remained friends all of their lives. (there are a few other remarks in the above obit, but no facts, I would be willing to share all details)

Alexander C Davis died May 3" 1913. Honored by his friends and neighbors. (pinned over the page from above is the following newspaper articles) One is a poem type print titled, "To One Dead" (I would assume it was in memory of A.C. Davis) the other newspaper article is as follows:
A.C. Davis
Alexander Campbell Davis, son of Elijah and Sarah Carr Davis, was born May 8, 1834 in Washington Co PA. He fought in the civil war in Company B, 1st O.V.C. and later served his regiment as the chief trumpeter. He escorted General Thomas in 1862. (lists battles he fought in) .....discharged on October 6, 1864. He was a member of the Christian Church. He was name sake of Alexander Campbell, founder of Bethany college. He located in Richmond, OH since 1891....and there being no church there he and his wife contributed to local churches and were well known. Nov 28, 1872 he was married to Miss Martha Carman of Unionport Oh. rev Price officiating then a member of Salem church. Three children were born from this union all of whom died during their childhood. Wife is still living at time of his death. He has two living sisters, Mrs Emma Harper and Mrs Nancy Bailey, one brother, Seaborn Davis, all of whom have made their homes far west. Funeral was held at residence on High St. the GAR attended and played Taps. He was laid to rest at Richmond Union cemetery. (words of thanks from the wife at the end of obit)

Attached appears to be the original marriage certificate pinned onto the page stating the following:
Marriage Certificate
This certifies that A. C. Davis of Jefferson County and State of Ohio and Mifs Martha Carman of Jefferson County and state of Ohio were united in Holy Matrimony by me according to the ordinances of God, and the Laws of the State of Ohio at the Brides Residence on the 28th day of Nov. in the year of our Lord 1872.

I must add the following, the bible is in poor condition with the back cover loose and front cover also not fixed, with the middle binding totally gone. BUT, the pages within the book itself seem to be dry and a bite brittle, but still I was able to open to the rear of the book and read the above info.
I would like to see this Family Bible in the hands of a descendent that would appreciate its value.
